Hillsboro, April 21 – A host of sorrowing friends were in attendance at the funeral services held at the home on Friday afternoon to pay their last respects to Francis Leon Deth (DeAth) 7 year old son of Mr. and Mrs. Frank Deth who met his death by drowning in Coal Creek while fishing on Tuesday evening. The service was conducted by Rev. Russell B. Kern of Covington, who formerly resided here and was pastor of the Hillsboro Methodist Church. Thurman Long, FA Long, George McBroom and JP Cooper sang, The Name of Jesus and Safe in the Arms of Jesus. Mrs. Harvey McBroom and Thurman Long also sang a duet, There will be no Disappointments in Heaven. The flower bearers were: Mabel Rose Beck; Winifred Romebke; Marion Frazier and Marion Daniel Glascock, who were members of his class at school and Allen Randolph, Sheldon Osborn, Herbert Krug and Misses Birge, Helen Starnes, Beulah Bunnell, Lucille McBroom and Joseph Taylor. The pall bearers were Teddy Hines, Harry Byart (?), Clair Crumley, Clarence Short, Lewis Harrison and Herman Foxworthy. Burial was made in Rose Hill Cemetery
