Covington – Miss Mildred Dennis, 60, clerk-treasurer of Covington since 1933, died today following a heart attack. Funeral services will be held tomorrow. Mrs. Clara Reed, widow of Ralph Reed, Fountain County man killed in action in Germany has been named to succeed Miss Dennis as clerk. – kbz

Covington – Funeral services for Miss Mildred Dennis 60 who was found dead in her home Monday morning will be at 3 p.m. Wednesday at the Crumley Chapel. The Rev. Arthur Schwabe will officiate and burial will be in Mt. Hope Cemetery. Miss Dennis was born Jan 24, 1853 (sic) in Covington, the daughter of Hilliam E. and Margaret Jacob Dennis. She was a charter member of Tri Kappa, Business & Professional Woman’s Club and the Episcopal Church. – kbz

Covington Aug 8 – Services were held today in Crumley Chapel for Miss Mildred Dennis, 60, Covington clerk-treasurer for the past 12 years who died at her home here Monday of heart trouble. A native of Covington she was a charter member of Covington Tri Kappa, sorority and a member of the Episcopal Church and Business and Professional Women’s club. She had no near relatives. The city council in special session, appointed Mrs. Clara Reed to serve the remainder of Mrs. (sic) Dennis’ term as clerk-treasurer. Mrs. Reed is the widow of Ralph Reed who lost his life in WWII while fighting in Germany. – kbz
