CAYUGA — Thelma A. Delp, 88, formerly of Cayuga, a resident of The Waters in Covington, died there at 2:28 p.m. Thursday, March 15, 2001. She was born Aug. 22, 1912 in Stockland, Ill., the daughter of Claude and Tammy (Nelson) Scott. She married Chester Monroe Delp, Sr. on July 19, 1932 in Watseka, Ill. He preceded in death April 13, 1973. She was a homemaker. She enjoyed gardening and embroidering and she especially enjoyed the outdoors. She was also studying to become a member of the Jehovah Witness Church. Survivors include: five daughters, Helen (Harold) Gebhart, Covington, Gladys (Larry) Carpenter, Hillsboro, Nina (Clarence) Rudolph, Danville, Ill.; Josephine Delp, Cayuga and Mary Delp, Arcadia; six sons, Chester Delp, Jr., Cayuga, William (Henrietta) Delp, Westville, Ill., Cheryl (Mildred) Delp, West Lebanon, Thomas Delp, Dana, Jarvis (Patsy) Delp, Eugene, and Lonnie (Dora) Delp, rural Covington; several grandchildren; great-grandchildren; a great-great-grandchild; three brothers, George Scott, Stockland, Ill., Merrill (Judy) Scott, Perrysville and Earl (Rosemary) Scott, Joliet, Ill.; and two sisters, Ruth Walt) Dewing, Boswell and Irene Kaufman, Kentland. She was also preceded in death by a son, Howard; a daughter, Margaret; three brothers and a sister. Funeral services were at 2 p.m. Monday in DeVerter Brothers Funeral Home, Cayuga, with Tom Lavey officiating. Burial was in Hicks Cemetery, Perrysville. – jlr
