EMSLEY DELP, seventy three years of age, was catching some chickens Tuesday morning at his farm close to the “Narrows” of Sugar Creek, not far from the John Lusk place, when he fell and injured himself so severely that he had to be hurried to an Indianapolis hospital. It was found necessary to perform a surgical operation as a last chance to save his life as he was ruptured. This was done, but owing to his age and because of the shock to his nerves caused by the injury in the morning, he died at eight Tuesday night. However, he came from under the influence of the anesthic alright. Mr. Delp lived on a farm in his home neighborhood for many years and had prospered. He is survived by a widow and three sons, Chauncey, Howard and M. I. Delp, and three daughters, Mrs. Mary F. Crowder, Mrs. Clay Shular and Miss Stella Delp. The married children all reside near the home of their parents.
His body was brought to Marshall on Wednesday and was then taken to his home. – S&E
