Covington – Mrs. Helen M. DeHaven, age 89, a native of Fountain County died Wednesday May 1 at Ball Memorial Hospital in Muncie. She had been ill ten weeks. Mrs. DeHaven was born near Covington, the daughter of Jeremiah and Uree McClain Hall. She was married in 1898 to George DeHaven who preceded her in death May 17, 1950. She moved to Muncie in 1952 and she was a member of the High Street Methodist Church there. Survivors include one daughter Mrs. OM (Lola) Ratcliff of Muncie; three sons, Roy and George of Battle Creek, Mich and Robert of North Little Rock, Ark; 9 grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren. Funeral services were held at 8 p.m. Friday at Meeks Funeral Home in Muncie. The body was then brought to the Bodine && Shelby Funeral Home here. Graveside rites were conducted at 2:30 p.m. Saturday in Prescott Cemetery near Covington. – kbz
