Attica – John William Deck, 62 of 706 Park Ave, Attica died in Community Hospital in Williamsport at 6:20 a.m. today. He had been in failing health 1 ½ years. Born in Bismark, Ill he attended Bismark school and moved to Attica 37 years ago. His marriage in 1935 in Danville, Ill was to Mary Lane and she survives.  Mr. Deck was a blast operator at Harrison Steel Co. for 36 years.  He was a member of Attica United Methodist Church. Surviving are three sons, Bill of Attica; Bob of Danville, Ill and Jack of Georgetown, Ill and two sisters, Mrs. Ralph (Mary Jane) Fink and Mrs. Edgar (Martha) Terrell, both of Attica.  Kbz

“Funeral Notice” – Friends may call after 5 p.m. Friday in the Maus Funeral Home. Services there at 10:30 a.m. Saturday with Rev. Marvin Jones officiating.  Interment in Riverside Cemetery. Also surviving are seven grandchildren.

John William Deck, 63, of 706 Park Ave. was pronounced dead on arrival at Community Hospital at 6:20 a. m. Wednesday, Aug. 4, 1976. He had been ill for a year and half and death was from natural causes. Born Nov. 22, 1913, in Bismarck, Ill., he was the son of John and Alice Brown Deck. He had resided in Attica for 37 years. On April 22, 1935, in Danville, Ill., he married Mary Lane, who survives. He had been a blast operator at Harrison Steel Casting Co. for 36 years. He had attended Attica schools and was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Attica. Survivors include three sons, Bill of Attica, Bob of Danville and Jack of Georgetown; two sisters, Mrs. Ralph (Mary Jane) Fink and Mrs. Edgar (Martha) Terrell, both of Attica; and seven grandchildren. Services will be at 10:30 a. m. Saturday at the Dale Maus Funeral Chapel, with the Rev. Marvin Jones officiating. Burial will be in Riverside Cemetery at Attica. Friends will be received after 5 p. m. Friday at the funeral home. - jlr
