WILLIAMSPORT — Katherine “Kate” H. (Brier) DeBord, 80, 20 Fourth St., Williamsport, died at 8 a.m. Sunday, March 17, 2002 in Country Care Nursing Center, Williamsport. She was born Jan. 19, 1922 in Attica, the daughter of Orrie Z. and Blanche Foreman Brier. She married William Harold “Andy” DeBord May 31, 1947 in Attica. He preceded in death Sept. 3, 1997. She was raised in Attica and graduated from Attica High School. She had lived in Williamsport since the early 1950s. She was a homemaker. She was a member of the Williamsport United Methodist Church; Ladies Auxiliary of the Eagles Lodge #2596, where she was a golden eagle; and the Ladies Auxiliary of the American Legion Post #259 of Williamsport. She enjoyed hunting mushrooms and solving crossword puzzles. Survivors include: a sister, Mildred “Dutch” Schultz, Lafayette; 19 nieces and nephews; and several great nieces and nephews. She was also preceded in death by four brothers, Cecil, Floyd, Merle and Fred Brier; a sister, Josephine Lawson Woodrow; and three nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. today (Wednesday) in Maus Funeral Home, Attica, with the Revs. Charles B. Anderson and Emmett Ade officiating. Burial will be in Riverside Cemetery, Attica. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society. – jlr
