Mrs. Myrtle DeAth, 73, life resident of the Mellott community died at her home at 5:05 a.m. Tuesday following an illness of 18 months. Mrs. DeAth was born Dec 26, 1882 in Richland Township, daughter of James M. and Sarah Hibbs Shade. She was married Jan 8, 1901 to Everett DeAth, a farmer of the community and he survives. Also surviving are two daughters, Mrs. Mark Beckelhymer of Veedersburg and Mrs. Oscar Amundson of Lafayette; a sister, Mrs. Rosetta Gebhart of Veedersburg who is a patient in Lake View Hospital in Danville, Ill and a brother, Sherman Shade of Hillsboro. Funeral services were held on Thursday afternoon at the Mellott Congregational Christian Church where she was a member. The Rev. Guy T. Walters of Dunkirk officiated and burial was in Rose Hill Cemetery at Hillsboro with Crumley Funeral Home in charge. – kbz
