Mrs. Jessie DeAth, 77, a life resident of the Mellott community, died Thursday at the Culver Hospital following a lingering illness.
Born March 28, 1882, on a farm near Mellott, she was the daughter of James and Florence Keyt Rice. She was married May 27, 1902, to Hugh DeAth who preceded her in death in 1951.
Mrs. DeAth was a member of the Mellott Congregational Christian Church.
Survivors include a son, Robert, of Mellott; two daughters, Mrs. Irma Cooper of Crawfordsville and Mrs. Walter Davis of Decatur, Ga.; three sisters, Miss Ruby Rice of Auburn, Indiana, Miss Waneta Rice of N. Judson, Ind., and Mrs. Homer Riester of
Mellott, and two brothers, Grover of Fairmount and Clarence Of Mellott.
Services were held Saturday, at, the Mellott Congregational Christian Church with burial in the Rose Hill Cemetery at Hillsboro.
The Crumley Funeral Home was in charge. - jz
