OLIVER P. DEAL, son of Frederick and Hannah J. Deal was born in Jasper Co., Ill., Feb. 6th 1878. Departed this life Feb 7th 1908 age 30 years 1 day. Before he had attained his majority he had the misfortune of loosing both his parents since which time he has made his home with his brother Chas. A. of Tangier, Ind. Oliver was a young man of good character honest and industrious strictly temperate in every sense of the term and commanded the respect of all his associates and acquaintance. He was a member of the order of Knights of Pythias of Tangier also of the Independent order of Odd fellowship of the same place and of the Pythean Sisters and Rebecca’s. He was the youngest member of a family of 11 children and leaves 3 brothers and 3 sisters and many relatives and friends to mourn his loss. But weep not brothers, sisters, friends that his toils are over. Weep not that his race is won. God grant that we may rest as calmly, When our lifes work is done. Somehow, somewhere we know not when, We’ll meet again and understand.

OLIVER DEAL aged 39 years died at the home of his brother, C. A. Deal, in Tangier Friday of last week. Death was caused by pneumonia. Deceased was a single man and had many friends, having been in the hardware business with his brother for some time. Funeral services were conducted from the residence of C. A. Deal Sunday by Rev. Cook of this place after which the remains were laid to rest in the cemetery at Tangier.
FAIRVIEW NEWS – The many friends of Ollie Deal were sadly shocked to hear of his death last week. He was a promising young man and will be missed both in business and socially as he was a friends to everyone
