Crawfordsville - Barnum Dazey, 74, of 106 N. Davis St., died at 7:15 a.m. Thursday in Culver Hospital here. He had been a auctioneer for 41 years and operated a sale barn in Lafayette for 11 years. He also was a realtor but had retired. He was a native of near Wingate. Mr. Dazey was married in 1909 to Vera Quick, who died in 1945; in 1947 to Juanita Davidson, who died in 1951, and in 1954 to Opal Morrison. He was a member of First Christian Church and a director of the Montgomery County Sale Pavilion. Surviving with the widow are a daughter, Mrs. Mildred Cord of Waynetown' two sons, Paul of Waynetown and Rex of Brownsburg; two stepsons, Donald and Robert Morrison of Crawfordsville, and a brother Charles of Wingate. Friends may call after 7 p.m. Friday at Hunt and Sons Funeral Home, Crawfordsville. Services there at 2 p.m. Sunday, the Rev. Howard F. Miller officiating; interment in Waynetown Masonic Cemetery.

Barnum Dazey 74, a retired auctioneer and realtor, died at 7:15 a.m. Thursday at Culver Hospital, where he had been a patient for three weeks. He had been in failing health for six months. Mr. Dazey had lived at 106 N. Davis St. in recent years, but had lived in Waynetown most of his life. He was an auctioneer for 41 years. Early in life, he operated a sale barn in Lafayette for 11 years. He was a director of the Montgomery County Sale Pavilion in Crawfordsville. He was born Aug 6, 1891, near Wingate, the son of Charles and Amanda Swank Dazey. He was a member of the First christian Church in Crawfordsville. He first married Aug 8, 1909, to Vera Quick. On June 1, 1947 he was married to Juanita Davidson. After her death, he married Opal Morrison on March 18, 1954. The survivors are the widow; a daughter, Mrs. Mildred Cord of Waynetown; two sons, Paul Dazey of Waynetown and Rex Dazey of Brownsburg; two stepsons, Donald Morrison and Robert Morrison, both of Crawfordsville; a brother, Charles Dazey of Wingate, a granddaughter, Mrs. Madonna Matheson of Santa Monica, Calif;, and four step-grandchildren. Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Sunday at the Hunt & Son Funeral Home with Rev. Howard F. Miller and Rev. Raymond Rhoda in charge. Burial will be in Waynetown Masonic Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home after 7 p.m. Friday.
