Veedersburg - Mrs. Mary Susan Day, 86, a resident of this community for more than 50 years, died at 3:15 a.m. in Community Hospital at Williamsport. She had been hospitalized nine days and in failing health several years. Born April 18, 1873, in Morgan County, Ky., she was the daughter of Marion and Margaret Peyton. She married John Day in 1893. He died in 1950. Mrs. Day was a member of the Baptist Church in Morgan County. Surviving are four sons, Arlie of Danville, Ill., William of Pine Village, Ollie of Veedersburg and Leslie of Richmond, Va; two brothers, Cleve of Gibson City, Ill., and Chess of Germantown, Ohio; 20 grandchildren and 42 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by five children. Funeral services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Wednesday at the Fishero Funeral Home here with Rev. Samuel Pritchard in charge. Interment will be in Rockfield Cemetery east of here. Friends may call at the funeral home after 7 p.m. Monday.

Mrs. Mary Susan Day, 86, died Sunday at the Community Hospital where she had been a patient nine days, following several years of failing health.
Born April 19, 1873, in Morgan County, Ky., she, was the daughter of Marion and Margaret Peyton. She was married April 1, 1893, to John Day, who preceded her in death in 1950.
Mrs. Day had been a resident of Veedersburg for more than 50 years. She was a member of the Baptist Chuch.
Survivors include four sons, Arlie of Danville, William of Pine Village, Ollie of Veedersburg and Leslie of Richmond, Va., two brothers, Cleve of Gibson City and, Chess of Germantown, Ohio; 20 grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
Services were held at the Fishero Funeral Home with the Rev. J. Samuel Pritchard officiating. Burial was in Rockfield Cemetery. - jz
