Jesse Day, 24 years old the eldest son of Mr. and Mrs. John Day, living near Hillsboro died Monday morning at his home from influenza. Mr. Day was recently honorably discharged from the Navy. He had been in the in the Navy since April 26 and was across seas several times. The deceased came to his home about a week ago and has received medical attention since that time under the direction of a special nurse. As two other members of the family are ill with influenza the family is under quarantine which necessitated a private funeral.

-- Hillsboro Oct 8 - Jesse Day, son of Mr. and Mrs. John Day of this city died Monday morning at 9 o'clock from influenza. Mr. Day had just recently been honorably discharged from the navy. He had been enlisted since April 26 and had been across the Atlantic Ocean several times. Before his discharge he had been in a hospital in Virginia. He came home a little over a week ago and has been under the care of a special nurse since that time. The family is under quarantine as two other brothers are ill with the influenza but are not regarded as critically ill. The funeral will have to be private. The deceased was 24 years old and oldest of a family of several children. The remaining six and parents survive. -- kbz
