DAVIS, Troy V

Troy V. Davis, 79, a resident of the Indiana Soldiers Home at Lafayette for the past year and prior to that of 510 E. Main St., died Monday morning in the home. He had taught school at Yountsville and Garfield, worked for the Indiana Highway Department, and retired from R. R. Donnelley & Sons Co. in 1960. The Waynetown High School and Valparaiso University graduate served in the Marine Corps in World War I. He was a member of the Alamo Masonic Lodge, Donnelley Club and American Legion. Born March 30, 1895, he was a son of Albert F. and Alice M. Mitchel Davis. Survivors include a sister, Mrs. Wandalene Armantrout of Crawfordsville, and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by a brother, Harry, and a sister, Esteele. Services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Wednesday in Burkhart Funeral Home with the Rev. N. L. Holland officiating. Burial will be in Zackmire Cemetery near Wallace. Friends may call at the funeral home. – jlr
