Mrs. Myrtle Davis, 80, of Kingman a 50-year member of Chariot Rebekah Lodge 317 and past president of Rebekah District 37, died late Thursday night at Culver Hospital at Crawfordsville where she had been a patient 2 days. She was a member of Freedom Christian Church and Roal Neighbors of America Lodge. Mrs. Davis was a daughter of Timothy and Abigail Wilkinson Alward and was born in Fountain County July 22, 1890. She married Chariles R. Davis on Aug 12, 1908. He died Nov 17, 1962. Surviving are 3 daughters, Mrs. Charles (Bertha) Hadley of Peoria, Ill; Mrs. Willard (Thelma) Hinshaw of Marshall and Mrs. Robert (Eva) Morgan of Crawfordsville; a son, Charles "Bus" Davis of Veedersburg; two brothers, Otis Alward of Kingman and Clause Alward of near Kingman; two sisters, Mrs. Robert (Grace) Newnum of Kingman and Mrs. Robert (Irene) Delp of Marshall; 16 grandchilren and 27 great grandchildren. Two brothers, a sister and 3 grandchildren are deceased. Funeral services will be conducted at 2:30 p.m. Sunday at Woodrow Funeral Home with Rev. Larry McMillan officiating and burial in Fraternal Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home after 4 p.m. Saturday. jlr

Mrs. Myrtle Davis, 80 of Kingman died Thursday night (June 17, 1971) at Culver Hospital in Crawfordsville, where she had been hospitalized for two days. Born July 22, 1890 in Fountain County, she was the daughter of Timothy and Abigail Wilkinson Alward. She was married to Charles R. Davis on Aug. 12, 1908, who died Nov. 17, 1962. Mrs. Davis was a member of the Freedom Christian Church, a 50 year member of the Chariot Rebekah Lodge 517, the Royal Neighbor Lodge of America and a past president of Rebekah Lodge. Survivors include three daughters, Mrs. Charles Hadley of Peoria, Ill., Mrs. Willard Hinshaw of Marshall and Mrs. Robert Morgan of Crawfordsville; a son, Charles “Bus” Davis of Veedersburg; two brothers, Otis Alward and Claude Alward, both of Kingman; two sisters, Mrs. Robert Newnum of Kingman and Mrs. Robert Delp of Marshall; 16 grandchildren and 27 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by two brothers, a sister and three grandchildren. Services will be at 2:30 p.m. Sunday at the Woodrow Funeral Home, with the Rev. Larry McMillan officiating.
