DAVIS, Josephine - Fountain County INGenWeb Project

Mrs. Josephine Davis of RR 1, Kingman, age 89, died Friday night, September 18, at the home of a granddaughter in Catlin, Illinois. She was born in Wabash Township, Fountain County, April 13, 1892, the daughter of Valentine and Ella Keller Allen. July 19, 1912, she married John Davis, who died in 1952. Mrs. Davis was a member of Stringtown Church of God and also attended Cooper’s Chapel.

  Survivors include 18 grandchildren, 47 great grandchildren and seven great great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by four sons, two daughters and (cannot read) grandchildren.

  Funeral services were held Monday afternoon at Bodine and Shelby Funeral Home in Covington with Rev. Max Paddock officiating. Burial was in Coal Creek Cemetery. – s --
