Pine Village – Fred Davis, 74 of Pine Village died 6:30 a.m. Thursday at St. Elizabeth Hospital Lafayette. He had been ill two months. Mr. Davis was born May 11, 1894 at Chase in Benton County, the son of Sidney L. and Emma Disbrow Davis. He was married to Lola Moore on April 26, 1923 at Danville, Ill.  He attended school in Benton County.  He was a farmer, having farmed in Vermilion County Ill and Warren County moving to Warren County in 1942.  He retired in 1960.  He was a member of the Christian Church of Pine Village, Dan Patch Post 8596, VFW of Oxford and a veteran of World War I.  Surviving with the wife are two sons, Freddie M of Battle Ground, Rt 1, Charles R of Pine Village; his father, Sidney L of Paxton, Ill; two sisters, Mrs. Florence Crist of Frankin, Ill; Mrs. Pearl Thurman of Hoopeston; one brother, Russell L of Hoopeston; five grandchildren. Friends may call at the Shipps-Konzelman Funeral in Oxford after 4 p.m. Friday. Services there 2 p.m. Saturday with Rev. Eugene Polf officiating. Burial will be in Pine Village Cemetery with military services at the graveside by the Veterans of Foreign Wars. – kbz
