PINE VILLAGE — Doris Ann (Akers) Davis, 79, 8864 N. State Road 55, Pine Village, died at 7:30 p.m. Sunday, July 15, 2007 in St. Vincent Williamsport Hospital. She was born June 21, 1928 in Lafayette, the daughter of C. Edgar and Etta Viola (Musson) Akers. She married Maurice John Ephlin in 1947. He preceded her in death in 1951. She then married Charles R. Davis Oct. 7, 1953 in Pine Village. He preceded in death Oct. 4, 1983. She was a life resident of Pine Village and graduated from Pine Village High School in 1946. She later attended Purdue University studying art and fashion. She had helped out at the Review Republican newspaper in Williamsport. She was also an avid volunteer, committing her time to the Attica Public Library, the Pine Village Food Pantry and the reading program at the Pine Village Elementary School. She had been a 30-year member of the Pine Village Eastern Star. She loved to watch sports. Survivors include: two daughters, Deb (Joey) Partridge, Chattanooga, Tenn. and Jan Braddy and Tommy Braddy, Murfreesboro, Tenn.; a sister-in-law, Mary Akers, Pine Village; six grandchildren, Jody, T. G., Mandy, Marie, Brandy and J. J.; 13 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by a son, Michael J. Ephlin, and a brother, Donald E. Akers. Friends will be received from 1 p.m. until service time of 6 p.m. tonight (Wednesday) in Maus Funeral Home, Attica, with Pastor Mike Link officiating. No gravesite services will be held.
