Funeral services were held Tuesday at Bodine & Shelby Funeral Home for Dallas Lee Davis, 21 of Yeddo who died at 2:05 a.m. Sunday in St. Elizabeth Hospital in Danville of injuries received in an accident Saturday night. The Rev. Paul Hunter officiated and burial was in Snoddy’s Cemetery south of Covington. Military services were conducted by the Kingman American Legion Post. Mr. Davis was born March 8, 1935 two miles north of Cates in Fountain County son of Dallas Monroe and Elsie Evans Davis. Surviving are his mother and stepfather, Mr. and Mrs. Ross Smith of Yeddo with whom he resided; paternal grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Ross Davis of Covington Rt 1; maternal grandmother, Mrs. Alice Evans of Yeddo; a sister, Barbara Ping of Covington Rt 1; a brother, Larry Gene Davis and a half brother, Bobby Smith both at home. He was a graduate of Kingman HS in 1953 and was discharged from the Army April 13, 1956. He had served two years as a paratrooper of the 503rd Airborne Division and was employed at Harrison Steel Casting since his return from service. – kbz
