Billie Bob Davis, 72, of Attica, died at his residence on Thursday, October 26, 2000 at 5:25 p.m. He had been in ill health since May. Born in Clay County, Tennessee on March 29, 1928, he was the son of Riley P. and Erma J. (Matthews) Davis. He was raised and educated in Kentucky and had resided in Attica for the past 45 years. He had formerly worked at Logan School, east of Attica and for 20 years at Harrison Steel Castings in Attica He was a member of West Point Baptist Church. His marriage was to Nellie Beatrice Poynter Pierce on December 28, 1955 in Covington. She preceded him in death on August 15, 1980. Surviving, are: three sons, Larry (Geraldine) Pierce of West Lafayette, Phil Pierce of Attica, and Randy (Sonia) Pierce of Remington; two daughters, Pat Pierce and Ruth (Ron) Larson, both of Attica; three sisters, Bernice Millboy, Louise Young, and Jewell Coffey, all of Greensburg, Ky.; a brother, Flevel Davis of Greensburg; eight grandchildren, Rodney Pierce, James Matthew Pierce, Jennifer Piece, Jodi Borders, Matt Pierce, Jessica Pierce, Nate Larson and Laura Larson; and three great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a son, Danny Pierce; two sisters and four brothers. Visitation was Sunday at Maus Funeral Home, Attica. Service there on Monday with Kevin BAPET officiating. Interment in Riverside Cemetery, Attica. Memorial contributions may be made to American Lung Association. – jlr & M & D too

ATTICA — Billie Bob Davis, 72,
1508 Kamilla Drive, Attica, died at 5:25 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 26, 2000 at his
residence. He had been in serious health since May. He was born March 29, 1928
in Clay County, Tenn., the son of Riley P. and Erma J. Matthews Davis. He
married Nellie Beatrice Poynter Pierce Dec. 28, 1955 in Covington. She preceded
in death Aug. 15, 1980. He was raised and educated in Kentucky and had resided
in Attica for the past 45 years. He formerly worked at the Logan school east of
Attica and for 20 years had been employed with Harrison Steel Castings Company
in Attica. He was a member of the West Point Baptist Church. Survivors include:
three sons, Larry (Geraldine) Pierce, West Lafayette, Phil Pierce, Attica and
Randy (Sonia) Pierce, Remington; two daughters, Pat Pierce and Ruth (Ron)
Larson, both of Attica; three sisters, Bernice Millboy, Louise Young and Jewell
Coffey, all of Greensburg, Ky.; a brother, Flevel Davis, Greensburg, Ky.; eight
grandchildren, Rodney Pierce, James Matthew Pierce, Jennifer Pierce, Jodi
Borders, Matt Pierce, Jessica Pierce, Nate Larson and Laura Larson; and three
great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a son, Danny Pierce; two
sisters and four brothers. Funeral services were at 11 a.m. Monday in Maus
Funeral Home, Attica, with Kevin Coomer officiating. Burial was in Riverside
Cemetery, Attica. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Lung
