Albert E. Davis, 88, died at 5:25 p.m. Monday in the Westbrook Nursing Home where he had been a patient since October, 1959. Mr. Davis farmed in the Veedersburg, Sterling and Waynetown communities before coming to Crawfordsville in 1933. He retired in 1952. Prior to his retirement he was employed about eight years as a sexton at the Masonic Cemetery here. Born April 5, 873, southwest of Wallace, he was the son of Isaac V. and Cassinda Philpot Davis. He was married to Alice M. Mitchell in 1894. She died in 1931. Mr. Davis was a member of the Methodist Church. Surviving are two sons, Troy of Crawfordsville and Harry C. of Trenton, Mo.; two daughters, Mrs. Fred Armantrout of Crawfordsville and Mrs. Chester Rennick of New Ross; a brother, Charles of Kingman; and three sisters, Mrs. Lawrence Reed of Greencastle, Mrs. Bessie Myler of Sidell, Ill., and Mrs. Minnie Watson of Wallace. Funeral services are announced for 1 p.m. at the Bright Funeral Home with Rev. John Servies in charge. Internment will be in the Zackmire Cemetery southwest of Wallace. Crawfordsville – Albert E. Davis, 88, formerly a farmer in the Veedersburg, Sterling and Waynetown communities, died in Westbrook Nursing Home here at 5:25 p.m .Monday. He had been a patient there since Oct 31, 1959. Mr. Davis moved to Crawfordsville in 1933 and retired in 1952 as sexton of the Masonic Cemetery here. He was born near Wallace and was married in 1894 to Alice M. Mitchel who died in 1931. He was a Methodist.
