DAVIDSON, Samuel H.

Samuel H. Davidson, one of Fountain County's pioneers passed away April 2, 1897, aged 83 years 4 months 12 days.  Uncle Sam, as he was familiarly called, was born in Armstrong County, Pennsylvania, NOv 20, 1813. At an early age he moved with his parents to Montgomery County, Ohio and at age 15 moved with his parents to Montgomery County, Ind, locating six miles south of Crawfordsville. He learned the saddlers trade with Jno. M. Fisher, one of Montgomery County's pioneers and was acknowledged to be a thorough artist in his line. His christian faith was of the Covenanter doctrine, having been baptized in infancy into that church - Covington Friend.

Note after: Samuel Davidson was the father of the late Judge TF Davidson and Dr. Davidson, of this city.
