Henry J. Davidson, 86 who retired a few years ago after having been engaged in business in Hillsboro for 50 years died at his home in Hillsboro Tuesday evening about 8 o’clock. He had been in failing health but was seriously ill only four days. His entire life was spent in the vicinity of Hillsboro and he was the junior member of the JD Linville & Company firm, operating a general merchandise store. Mr. Davidson was past master and a 50 year member of the F&AM Lodge 385 of Hillsboro.  A member of the Hillsboro Methodist Church and the last survivor of the building committee of the church when it was constructed in 1903. He served as superintendent of the Sunday School for a number of years. He taught school in Hillsboro and completed the unexpired term of the late William E. Brant as trustee of Cain Twp. Born east of Hillsboro on July 12, 1868 he was the son of Samuel H. and Elmira Bullington Davidson. He was married to Eva Wood who survives. Other survivors are one daughter Mrs. Dorothy Wiegle of Indianapolis; one sister Mrs. Bertha Williams of Hillsboro and a grandson, Robert Weigle, also of Indianapolis. The body was removed to the Crumley Funeral Home to remain for the funeral service which will be held at 2 p.m. Friday. The Rev. Kenneth Vetters, pastor of the Hillsboro Methodist Church will officiate and burial will be in Rose Hill cemetery. – kbz

Henry J. Davidson, 86 former Hillsboro school teacher and a former trustee of Cain Township died in his home here at 8 p.m. Tuesday after an illness of less than a week.  He was the last member of the building committee of the Methodist Church when it was built here in 1903. He operated a general store here for 50 years and was a past master of the Masonic order. Born east of Hillsboro, he was married to Eva Wood, who survives with a daughter, Mrs. Dorothy Weigel, Indianapolis and a sister, Mrs. Bertha Williams, Hillsboro. - kbz
