DAVIDSON, Ethel Chester - Fountain County INGenWeb Project

Mrs. Ethel C. Davidson, 81-year-old veteran news correspondent died at 5 p. m. Wednesday in Culver Hospital at Crawfordsville. She had been ill 4 weeks. She ws born Nov 19, 1884 in Alvin, Ill, a daughter of Robert and Elizabeth Rice Chester. She married Elwood Davidson at Newtown in 1907. A Hillsboro resident for 59 years she had lived previously in Newtown. She was a membr of the Hillsboro Christian Church, Circle III of the Christian Women's Fellowship and Cain Twp, Home Ec Club. Mrs. Davidson had been a news correspondent for the Crawfordsville Journal-Review for over 30 years and Danville Commercial-New 54 years. She was preceded in death by her husband in 1961 and by a brother. Surviving is a sister, Mrs. Velma Bennett of New Madison, Ohio. Funeral services will be at 2 p. m. Saturday at Crumley-Williams Funeral Home with Rev. Charles Marshall officiating. Burial in Rose Hill Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home after noon Friday.
