WINGATE, Ind. (CNS) -- Mrs. Jennie Hays Darnell, 90, of Wingate, died at 3:15 p.m. Sunday (Nov. 17, 1974) at the home of her son, Harold Hays of Wingate, where she has resided since 1967. Born May 28, 1884, at Hartsville, she was the daughter of Martin and Ida Castetter Brown. In 1907 at Homer, Ill., she married William S. Hays, who died in May of 1938. In 1945, she married Claud C. Darnell, who died in November 1957. She has been a resident of Wingate since 1920. She was educated at the Hartsville area schools. She was a member of the Wingate United Methodist Church, Wingate United Methodist Women and Waynetown Eastern Star Chapter 435. Survivors include two sons, Harold Hays and Lawrence Hays, both of Wingate; a daughter, Mrs. Raymond (Helen) Allhands, of Wingate; a step-daughter, Mrs. Earl (Mary Alice) Sullivan of Signal Mountain, Tenn.; two sisters, Mrs. Floyd Davis of New Richmond and Mrs. Carmon Larrabee of Crawfordsville; three step-grandchildren; and nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by five brothers and three sisters. Services will be at 2 p.m. EST Wednesday at the Servies-Thomas Funeral Home in Waynetown, with the Rev. Tom True, officiating. Burial will be in the Green Lawn Cemetery at Wingate. Friends may call after 2 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.--waw
