Oscar J. Dark, 69 died at 6 pm. yesterday, Jan 10, 1968 in the Vermillion County Hospital. Clinton where he had been a patient four days. Born July 13, 1898 in Parke County, he was the son of Charles and Amanda Moore Dark. He was married April 22, 1918 to Mabel Lee who survives. Other survivors include two daughters, Dorothy of Indianapolis and Mrs. Barbara May of Kingman; a son, Frank of Kingman; a sister, Mrs. Glady Bever of Winter Parke, Fla and five grandchildren. A retired coal miner, Mr. Dark was a member of the United Mine Workers of America. Services will be at 2 p.m. EST Saturday at the Woodrow Funeral Home. Burial will be Kingman Cemetery. Friends will be received at the funeral home from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Friday.

Kingman – Oscar J. Dark, age 69 of Kingman Rt 2 died at 6 p.m. Wednesday Jan 10 in the Vermillion County Hospital at Clinton where he had been a patient about one week. Mr. Dark, a native of Parke County was a retired coal miner. He was a member of the United Mine Workers. He was born July 13, 1898 to Charles and Amanda Moore Dark. He was married April 12, 1918 to Mabel Lee who survives. Surviving in addition to the wife are two daughter, Miss Dorothy Dark of Indianapolis and Mrs. Barbara May of Kingman; one son Frank of Kingman; one sister, Mrs. Gladys Bever of Winter Park, Fla and five grandchildren.  Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Saturday at Woodrow Funeral Home here. The Rev. Tersa Hardy officiated and burial was in the Kingman Fraternal Cemetery. - kbz
