Clarence J. Dark died at his home, Veedersburg RR 2 March 25, 1948 due to a heart ailment. He was born May 19, 1884 in Parke County, son of Joseph Dark and Emily Stull Dark. He is survived by his wife, Minnie Payton Dark, six children: Veda, Mary Lea and Lela at home; Helen Weisheit Bloomingdale; Ruth Higgsins Crawfordsville; Marvin, Veedersburg. He is also survived by two brothers, Thomas and William of Kingman; 3 grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.. Saturday afternoon at the Kingman United Brethern Church with the Rev. Leslie Smith officiating. Burial in Harveysburg cemetery. Bodine & Shelby Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.

The funeral services for Clarence Dark were held at the EUB Church Saturday afternoon with the Rev. Leslie Smith officiating. Music was furnished by Scott Ratcliff with Mrs. W. J. DeVerter at the piano.
Pall bearers were Frank Shoaf, Robert Siegfried, Jess Wakeland, Deward Allen, James Wakeland and Carson English. Flower bearers were Mrs. Frank Shoaf and daughter, Marjorie, Mrs. Mabel Bennett, Mrs. Herschel Shuler, Mrs. Edward Duchene, Mrs. Marney Sowers, Mrs. Earl Bowman, and Mrs. Siegfried. – thanks to S&E

Clarence J. Dark, retired section hand and farmer, living south of Veedersburg, formerly of Kingman, was found dead in his bed at 4:30 Thursday morning, March 25, by his wife. Mrs. Dark investigated Mr. Dark’s failure to turn off the alarm clock as was his custom, and found him dead.
Coroner Charles Fishero was called and stated death was due to coronary occlusion.
Mr. Dark was born May 19, 1894, the son of Joseph and Emily Stull Dark, in Tangier, Parke County. He was married to Minnie Payton in 1906.
Survivors include the widow and six children; Veda, Marylea, and Lela, all at home; Helen Weisheit of Bloomingdale, Mrs. Ruth Hagens, Crawfordsville, and Marvin, of Veedersburg; three grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by an 18 year old daughter, Ruby, in 1935. – thanks to S&E
