Covington - Harold E. Dare, 69, a Covington resident for many hears, died at 2:46 p.m. Saturday in Covington Manor Nursing Home where he had been a patient one month. He had been ill three years. Mr. Dare retired in 1972 after 15 years employment at Olin-Mathison. He also had been a farmer and was employed several years by Hegler Zinc Co. at Danville, Ill. He was a former resident of Danville and Perrysville. Mr. Dare was a member of Unity Lodge 344 F&AM at Perrysville, Perrysville Chapter 302 OES and Pleasant Grove Bible Chapel. He was born May 2, 1906, at Bloomington, Ill., a son of Elsworth and Mary Dare. He was married Oct. 27, 1929 to Mildred B. Hanna. Surviving are the widow; three sons, Harold Dean of Rt. 4 Attica, Wayne Eugene of Covington and Marvin Gene of Gainesville, Tx.; a daughter, Mrs. Everett (Delores) Wilson of Huntsville, Tex.; two sisters, Mrs. Gladys Maiden of Danville and Mrs. Jeanette Bedini of HIghwood, Ill.; a brother Howard of Michigan; and six grandchildren. He was preceded in death by six brothers and two sisters. Services were this afternoon in Bodine & Shelby Funeral Home. Burial was in Lower Mound Cemetery.
