Lafayette—L. Marie Darding, 85, a former resident of Lafayette, died at 8:22 a.m. Sunday, Feb. 19, 1989 in the White County Memorial Hospital. She had been residing at the Tioga Pines Nursing Home.
Prior to going to the nursing home, she resided seven years at friendship House in West Lafayette.
She was born June 15, 1905 in Warren County. She was a longtime resident of Lafayette and was married to Floyd R. Darding, who preceded her in death in 1956.
She attended Rainsville School and was a member of the Oxford VFW Auxiliary.
Surviving are three daughters, Mrs. Kenneth (Wanda) Douglas, Lafayette; Glenadene Stonebreaker, Indianapolis, and Juanita Harradon, South Bend; three sisters, Luella Ford, Green Hill; Mable Brown, Farmington, Mich., and Mildred Foster, Indianapolis; a brother, Leonard Hurst, Cape Coral, Fla.; 12 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren.
Funeral services were at 10 a.m. Wednesday in Soller-Baker West Lafayette Chapel with David Boyer officiating. Burial was in Rainsville Cemetery.
