One hundred and one year old James E Daniel, last surviving Civil War veteran in Vermillion County died Tuesday night at a Paris, Ill hospital relatives at Clinton learned Wednesday. Daniel was a native of Parke County and during the war he fought with the 43d infantry. He was father of 19 children 15 of whom are living.
