Veedersburg - Funeral services were held at 2:30 p.m. Friday, Jan. 4, at the Fishero Funeral Home for Mrs. Dora Cushman, age 66, a former Veedersburg resident, who died Tuesday, Jan. 1, at the Thornberry Nursing Home in Vincennes where she had been making her home for the past several months. Born April 13, 1896, in Veedersburg, she was the daughter of Cyrus and Arissa Hopkins Brown. She was married to Welby Roark, George Roark and Albert Cushman, all of whom preceded her in death. Survivors include six daughters, Mildred Roark, Mrs. Ruth Huber of Daleville, Mrs. Esther Crawley of Muncie, Mrs. Retha Langford of Columbus, Mrs. Shirley Butterick of Veedersburg and Mrs. Zola Booe of Hillsboro; two sons, Hurley Roark of San Diego, Calif., and Carl Roark of Veedersburg; three step daughters, Mrs. Viola Ruehle of Vincennes, Mrs. Velma Rozell of Danville and Mrs. Irene Fogle of Heron; four step sons, Cecil Cushman of Kankakee, Clayton Cushman of Glen Ellen, Ill.; Forrest Cushman and Alva Cushman, both of Veedersburg; four brothers, Roy Brown of Veedersburg, Ray Brown of Fithian, Bill Brown of Indianapolis and Hurley of Kokomo and 18 grandchildren. The Rev. J. Samuel Pritchard officiated at the service. Burial was in the Veedersburg Town Cemetery.
