Covington – John William Cundiff, of Danville, Ill Rt 1, brother of Russell Cundiff of Covington Rt 2, died Wednesday April 16 at St. Elizabeth Hospital in Danville, Ill. He was born March 29, 1899 in Pilot Township, Vermilion County, Ill the son of James R. and Ida Kreamer Cundiff. He was a farmer and life-resident of the Newton, Ill community. He was married March 12, 1919 in Danville to Emma Edith Atwood, who survives. The couple had just celebrated their 50th anniversary. Surviving in addition to the wife, are four sons; four daughters; 25 grandchildren; five great grandchildren; four brothers including Russell of Covington Rt 2 and one sister. Funeral services were held at 2:30 p.m. Friday at the Johnson Funeral Home in Oakwood, Ill. Burial was in Trimble Cemetery there. – kbz
