OXFORD — Twila "Betty" E. (Dunkerly) Cullop, 83, Pine Village, died at 10:30 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 12, 2000 in Edgewood Health Care Center. She was born May 19, 1916 in Oaktown, the daughter of Barton and Twila Elizabeth Mattingly Dunkerly. She married Dr. Richard Harvey Cullop July 1, 1936 in Henderson, Ky., who survives. She lived in Columbus, Ohio before moving to Pine Village, residing there for over 50 years. She was a graduate of Freelandville High School and Vincennes University, majoring in education. She ran the Warren County License Branch out of Dr. Cullop's office and was his official secretary at his veterinary clinic. She was a member, and past organist for Pine Village United Methodist Church,; a member of Eastern Star and past district deputy of District 16, having received her 50-year pin; Daughters of American Revolution; and Istopia Club. Survivors, besides the husband, are: two daughters, Suzanne (Larry) Root, Nashville, Tenn., Patricia (Richard) Brown, Setauket, N.Y.; and four grandsons. She was preceded in death by her parents; a son, Richard Cullop Jr.; two brothers, Miles Dunkerly and Barton Dunkerly; and two sisters, Muriel Bland and Doris Barbour. Funeral services were at 2:30 p.m. Saturday in Maus Funeral Home, Attica, with the Rev. Mike Link officiating. Burial was in Pine Village Cemetery. – jlr
