Hillsboro - Gilbert Crumley, 81, former Richland Township resident and native of the Newtown community, died about noon Wednesday (Mar. 14, 1951) at the Avery Nursing Home near Frankfort. He had been ill a year following a stroke. The body was returned to the Crumley Funeral Home at Hillsboro Wednesday afternoon where it will remain for services at 2 p.m. Friday. The Rev. Guy Walters of Mellott will officiate. Burial will be in Union Cemetery, west of Newtown. Mr. Crumley was born Dec. 21, 1869, near Newtown, the son of John and Sarah Voliva Crumley. He resided in the Newtown community until 35 years ago when he moved to a farm near Frankfort. Surviving are three nephews, Clifford C. Crumley of Apopka, Fla., Monroe Crumley of Evansville, and Forrest Crumley of Mellott.
