Mellott, Ind. - Forest "Frosty" Crumley, 84, of near Mellott, died Wednesday morning (Aug. 9, 1972) at the Home Hospital in Lafayette. Born Dec. 30, 1887 on a farm near Mellott where he resided, he was the son of Thomas and Emma Ireland Crumley. He was married Sept. 7, 1918 at Wingate to Fleta Crane. She survives. He attended Mellott school and was a retired farmer. He was a member of the Mellott Church of Christ, Fountain County Farm Bureau and Mellott Fish and Game Club. Other survivors include three sons, Marvin C. of Lakeland, Fla., Billy I. of Riverside, Calif. and Jack D. of Omaha, Neb.; three daughters, Mrs. Edward (Betty) Sparks of Indianapolis, Mrs. N. Robert (Rose Emma) Smith of Crawfordsville and Mrs. Robert W. (Bernice) Harlan of Lafayette; 17 grandchildren, and six great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by two daughters, a son and a grandson. Services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at Crumley-Williams Funeral Home in Hillsboro with the Rev. Clyde K. Hunter officiating. Burial will be in Greenlawn Cemetery at Wingate. Visitation will be from 4 to 9 p.m. Friday at the funeral home. The family requests that any memorials be in the form of contributions to the United Church of Christ memorial fund.
