Kingman -- Robert Dale Cruea, 23 a resident of this community nearly all his life, drowned in the Wabash RIver early Sunday when a fishing boat capsized. The young man, en employee of the Harrison Steel Casting Co. and living at WIlliamsport the last five months was reported to have been in a boat with two friends, Richard and Kenny Cocker of Williamsport. They were running a troutline when apparently their movements overbalanced the boat on one side and it tipped over, throwing them into the river. At the time of the accident about 6:15 a.m. the boat was on the Warren County side of the river near Williampsort. His companions tried to help young Creua to shore but couldn't make it. They called for help. Rivermen, the Warren & Fountain sheriff's departments and state police came to the scene. Dragging operations were carried on during the morning without success. Just as state police scuba divers entered the water the body was recovered about 1:30 p.m by David & Frank Dernarte of Rt. 2 Attica using mussel bars. The drowning victim was a native of Kingman born Feb 10, 1942 to Arthur and Martha Jean Nolan Creua. He was a 1963 graduate of Kingman HS. He attended the Kingman Christian church. He was married July 2, 1963 to Sue Jones who survives with a year-old son Robert Dale Jr. Also surviving are the grandparents, Jess and Ruth Nolan of Kingman and Asa and Bertha Creua of Covington. Also surviving are two half brothers, Arthur Creua Jr. of Covington; Fountain County Deputy Sheriff and Jackie Dean Creua with the U.S.A.F. stationed at Washington DC. The deceased was a nephew of Sheriff George Creua of Fountain County. Funeral services are announced for 4 pm. Wednesday at Bodine & Shelby Funeral Home in Covington where friends may call after 3 p.m.T uesday. Burial will be in Kingman Fraternal Cemetery, Rev. Larry Mcmillan will be the minister.
