Mrs. Velma Dorine Crowder, 66 of Kingman died Thursday morning Aug 25, 1977 in Methodist Hospital in Indianapolis. She had been a patient for three weeks. Born July 19, 1911 in Fountain Co, she was the daughter of Milford and Ida Allgood Newman. On Oct 19, 1929, she was married to Eston Crowder who died April 12, 1960. Survivors include six daughters, Mrs. Andrew (Betty) Schneider of Elkhart; Mrs. Bobby (Joan) Bruner of Newtown; Mrs. George (Galena) Groetsch of New Brighton, Minn; Mrs. John (Margaret) Martz of New Market; Mrs. Daniel (Clara) Crane of Danville, Ill; Mrs. Darrell (Sandra) Paxton of Westpoint, ind; three sons, Rex Lee Crowder of Longview, Tx; Max Leroy Crowder of Crawfordsville; and Lew Wayne Crowder of Waynetown; four sisters, Mrs. Eugene (Gladys) Sowers of Wallace; Mrs. Bernice Lasley of Oregon; Mrs. Ina Woodard of danville, Ind and Mrs. Mary Brown of Tangier; a brother, James Newnum (sic) of Tangier 25 grandchildren and six greats. She also was prceded in death by a sister, 3 sons and five grandchildren. Services will be at 2 p.m. Sautrday at the Woodrow Funeral Home witht he Rev. John Glosser officiating. Burial in Memory Gardens, Rockville. Friends will be received from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. today.
