COVINGTGN - Russell Howard Crowder, 54, of Rt. l, Covington, died at 6:50 p.m. Friday in Lakeview Hospital at Danville, Ill., where he had been a patient for five hours. He died on his birthday after suffering a heart attack. Mr. Crowder had been a driver for Wilson Freight Lines for 20 years and also had been a farmer. He was a member of Teamsters Local 710 of Chicago and was an Army veteran of World War II having served in Africa and Europe. He had resided at his present address for 15 years and also had lived at Chicago and Evansville. He was a member of the East Side Baptist Church at Evansville and attended the Covington Baptist Church. Born Jan. 16, 1922, in Fountain County, he was a son of Fred and Pearl Setzer Crowder. He was married to Grace Ellen Schultz on April 3, 1950. She survives. Also surviving are a son, Russell Howard Jr. who is a student at Indiana University; a daughter, Brenda Jane, a student at DePauw University; his father of Perrysville; a brother, Louis of Blufton; a sister, Mrs. Mary Katherine Williams of Perrysville; and several aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews. His mother and a sister are deceased. Services will be at 2 p.m. Monday in Bodine & Shelby Funeral Home with the Rev. Dale Cadman officiating. Burial will be in Mt. Hope Cemetery Friends may call at the funeral home after 2 p.m. Sunday. - jlr
