COVINGTON — June Elizabeth
Crowder, 80, Covington, died at 9:05 a.m. Monday, Nov. 19, 2007 in Provena
United Samaritans Medical Center, Logan Campus, Danville, Ill. She was born
Dec. 30, 1926 in Cayuga, the daughter of Herschel and Ruth (Murdock) Sherman. She
married Everett Lee Crowder July 2, 1944 in Perrysville. He preceded in death
Sept. 22, 1996. She worked at the Covington IGA retiring after 21 years of
service. She cleaned houses for several years after retiring. She was a
homemaker and enjoyed spending her time with her family and friends. She was
the best cook in the world especially her homemade noodles and rolls. She was a
member of the First Assembly of God and the V.F.W. Post #2395 Ladies Auxiliary.
Survivors include: three children, Donald Lee (Camilla) Crowder, Sandy Crowder,
Bobbie (Node) Niccum, all of Covington; four grandchildren, Donny Crowder,
Charley (Robyn) Crowder, Michelle (James) Brockway, Brian (Crystal) Niccum;
eight great-grandchildren, Kelvin and Darien Kau, Noa, Blayden, and Micah
Crowder, Raelyn and Thea Brockway, and Brice Niccum; four sisters, Wilma
Hueston, Margaret Williamson, Dorothy (Kenny) Myers, Norma (Ed) Myers; a
brother, Norman (Susie) Sherman; many nieces and nephews; and a one special
friend, Ruth Bever. Funeral services were at 2 p.m. Saturday in Shelby Funeral
Home, Covington, with Pastor Bob Fairchild officiating. Burial was in Coal
Creek Cemetery, Covington. Memorials requested to First Assembly of God with
envelopes available at the funeral home. –
