WAYNETOWN- Elijah Crowder, 77, Sullivan, Ill., died at 6:30 p.m. Friday at a nursing home there. He formerly lived in this community. Survivors include two brothers, Wiley of Waynetown and Grover of Hillsboro; two daughters, Mrs. Mildred Davidson of Clarks Hill and Mrs. Mary Murrin of Danville, Ill., and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services are announced for 2 p.m. Monday in Sullivan.   - thanks, Lena

Elijah Crowder, 77, who spent the greater part of his life in Fountain County, died Friday at a nursing home in Sullivan, Ill.  He had been in in health for several years.  He was the son of Mr. and Mrs. John Crowder.
Mr. Crowder operated a grocery store in Hillsboro for several years and also at Veedersburg and Sullivan.  He was a member of the Masonic Lodge of Wallace.
Survivors are the widow, Marie Crowder; two daughters, Mrs. Mary Murrin, of Danville, Ill., and Mrs. Mildred Davidson of Clark's Hill; two brothers, Wiley Crowder of Waynetown and Grover Crowder, of Hillsboro; four grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren; and his 97-year-old stepmother Mrs. Fannie Crowder of Wingate.
Funeral services were held at a Funeral Home in Sullivan Monday afternoon with burial also in Sullivan.  - jz
