VEEDERSBURG — Dorothea L.
Crowder, 75, died in La Vergne, Tenn., at 8:31 p.m. Feb. 16, 2000. She was born
April 13, 1924 in Parke County, the daughter of Hubert and Myrth Nickell Delp.
She married Wallace Crowder Aug. 8, 1942. He preceded in death Feb. 17, 1980.
She graduated from Marshall High School and attended Indiana State Teachers
College. She had taught school in Cates, Hillsboro and Veedersburg. Survivors
include: two sons, Larry Crowder, Danville, Ill. and Phillip Crowder, La
Vergne, Tenn.; three daughters, Patricia Meadows, Veedersburg, Cathy Woolley,
Texas, Lia Richardson, La Vergne, Tenn.; 13 grandchildren; and seven
great-grandchildren. She was also preceded in death by her parents and a
sister. Funeral services were at 10:30 a.m. Saturday in Dickerson Funeral Home,
Veedersburg, with the Rev. Gary Johnson officiating. Burial was in Wolfe Creek
Cemetery near Wallace. – jlr
