Stringtown, Ind - Services will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday at the Bodine & Shelby Funeral Home in Covington for Dewey (Jack) Crowder, 65, who died yesterday Jan 19, 1968, at Hammond, Ind. The Rev. Donald True will officiate with burial in Snoddy Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home Monday afternoon and evening. Visitation Sunday afternoon and evening will be at Schroeder Funeral Home, Lansing, Ill. Mr. Crowder was born July 23, 1902, in Covington, a son of Thomas J. and Jessie Chambers Crowder. He had lived in Lansing 35 years. Survivors include a daughter, Mrs. Ruth Beilby of Hammond; a son, Charles of Lansing; 3 brothers, Herschel and Melvin of Cayuga and Anderson of Terre Haute; 4 grandchildren and a great grandchild. Mr. Crowder was employed in oil refineries at Whiting, Ind; and retired in 1963

Stringtown – Funeral services for Dewey (Jack) Crowder, age 65 who died Friday Jan 19 at Hammond were held at 2 p.m. Tuesday at the Bodine & Shelby Funeral Home in Covington, the Rev. Donald True officiated and burial was in Snoddy Cemetery south of Covington. Mr. Crowder was born July 23, 1902 at Covington, the son of Thomas J and Jessie Chambers Crowder.  He had lived in Lansing, Ill the past 35 years. He had been employed in oil refineries at Whiting, Ind and had retired in 1963.  Survivors are one daughter, Mrs. Ruth Belby of Hammond; one son, Charles of Lansing; three brothers, Herschel and Melvin of Cayuga and Anderson of Terre Haute; four grandchildren and one great grandchild. – kbz

Cayuga, Ind -- Dewey Johnson Crowder, a former resident of Stringtown area died at 5 a.m. today Jan 19, 1968 in St. Margaret's Hospital at Hammond. The body will be returned to the Bodine & Shelby Funeral Home in Covington. Arrangements are incomplete. He is survived by 3 brothers, Melvin and Herschel of Cayuga and Anderson of Terre Haute.
