Funeral services for Creighton C. Crowder were conducted Wednesday afternoon at the Hunt and Son Funeral Home with Rev. Henry King officiating. Burial was in Masonic Cemetery. Mrs. O. C. Edwards was organist. Pallbearers, who assisted with the flowers, were Wilbert Chambers, Merle Larew, Floyd Swank, Emory Parks, Donald Morris, John Mayer, Howard Simpson and Owen Hamm. Mr. Crowder died Monday morning. (April 12, 1965)

Creighton C. Crowder, 56, filling station operator here for many years, died suddenly at his home, 1014 E. Market Street at 2:15 a.m. Monday. Death was due to a heart attack. For 35 years Crowder had been associated with the Standard Oil Co. He operated a service station at the corner of Market & Walnut for 16 years and for the past 13 had operated a station at the corner of Market & Morgan Streets. Born Nov 12, 1908, in Montgomery County, he was the son of Melvin B and Rose Eskew Crowder. He was married June 23, 1939 to Mildred Moore at Hammond. Crowder was a member of the Crawfordsville Lions Club. The survivors are the wife, a sister, Mrs. Zillah MIller of Crawfordsville and several cousins. Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday t Hunt & Son Funeral Home with Rev. Henry Karg of Terre Haute in charge. Burial in Masonic Cemetery. Friends may calla fter noon Tuesday at the funeral home.
