CROUSE, Carl - Fountain County INGenWeb Project

Covington - Carl V. Crouse, 74, of Rt. 1 Covington, died at 1:45 p.m. Saturday in the West Pasco Hospital in New Port Richey, Fla., where he had been a patient one week. He had been in failing health several years and seriously ill one month. He had operated the Crouse Apple Orchard for 30 years before his retirement nine years ago. He lived in Florida during the winter since 1948. He was born June 24, 1891, in Fountain County to Howard and Eleanor Hortenstine Crouse. He was married to Zola Smith July 1, 1922. Survivors include his wife; four sons, John of Durham, N.C., James of Waynetown, Robert of Crawfordsville and Richard of Rt. 1 Covington; a daughter, Mrs. Donna Allen of Perrysville; 12 grandchildren and a sister, Mrs. Ruth McHargue of Greendale, Wis. Services will be at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday at the Bodine & Shelby Funeral Home in Covington. Burial will be in the Mt. Carmel Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home after 3 p.m. Tuesday.
