Mildred G. (Brown) Hensley
Cronkhite, 88, a resident of West Lebanon, died at St. Vincent Williamsport
Hospital at 4:15 p.m. on Saturday, May 8, 1999, where she had been a patient
two days. Born in Riverside, Fountain Co., on December 28, 1910, she was the
daughter of John and Jennie (Corwin) Brown. Mrs. Cronkhite had been a resident
of Warren County most of her life, living in the West Lebanon community. She
was first married on December 28, 1926 in Daville, Ill. to Clifford R. Hensley.
He preceded her in death in 1983. She was later married on May 8, 1985 in
Rockville to Everett E. Cronkhite. He survives. Mrs. Cronkhite was a homemaker.
She and her first husband managed the Hicks Motel in West Lebanon for several
years. She enjoyed taking drives in the country and playing bingo. Also
surviving, are: two daughters, Barbara (Edgar) Lamaster of Attica and Judy Hunt
of Daytona, Texas; one son. Donald L. Hensley of West Lebanon; one stepdaughter,
Jean (Mike) Hambright of Memphis, Tenn.; two sisters, Marjory (Garner) Sherrill
of Danville, Ill. and Maxine Hartz of Venice, Fla.; 11 grandchildren and
several great-grandchildren; and several stepgrandchildren and
stepgreat-grandchildren. She was also preceded in death by a son, John; one
brother, one sister and five grandchildren. There was no visitation. The body
was cremated. Graveside service was held at West Lebanon Cemetery on Tuesday
with Rev. Grover Williams officiating. Memorials may be made to the American
