Covington – Elmer Cripe, age 82, of 715 Third St, Covington died at his home at 4:30 a.m. Sunday Jan 5 after an extended illness. Mr. Cripe was born Oct 21, 1876 in Flora, Ind the son of Daniel and Mary Katherine Cripe. He was married to Roberta Howard in Sept 1957 and she survives. Also surviving are one daughter, Mrs. Helen Forber of Logansport; one son, Roy Cripe of Belleflower, Calif; one brother, Calvin Cripe of San Barnadino; one sister, Mrs. Ella Wilson of Lapeer, Mich; four stepdaughters, Iola Darnell at home; Mrs. Reatha Simerl; Mrs. Kate Hale and Mrs. Lois Allen all of Covington and community; one stepson Bill Howard, also of Covington; four grandchildren and nine great grandchildren. Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Tuesday at the Hegg Funeral Home in Covington. Burial was in Mt. Hope Cemetery. – kbz
