Thomas D. Crayton, 77, a former resident of 24 N. Alexander, died at 6:30 a.m. yesterday (May 20, 1968) in an out-of-town hospital. Born Dec. 14, 1890, in Hillsboro, Ind., he was a son of Henry and Elizabeth Swearingen Crayton. Surviving are a niece, Mrs. Glen (Jeanette) List of Perrysville, Ind., and a nephew, Joe Crayton of Gary, Ind. He was preceded in death by a brother and a sister. Mr. Crayton was last employed as a watchman at the Earl Gastoff Manufacturing Display Co. He was an Army veteran of World War I. Mr. Crayton was a member of the Disabled American Veterans. He attended the Assembly of God Church. Services will be at 1 p.m. Wednesday at the Barrick & Son Funeral Home. The Rev. James Hyllberg will officiate. Burial will be in Rose Hill Cemetery at Hillsboro. Friends will be received at the funeral home 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. today.
