Funeral services for Charles Edward (Ed) Crawford, age 77, 516 Fourth St., who died unexpectedly at 7 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 21, of a heart attack, were held at 2 p.m. Sunday at the Bodine & Shelby Funeral Home. The Rev. Donald Ashley, pastor of the Covington Methodist Church, officiated and burial was in Mt. Hope Cemetery here. Mr. Crawford was born Jan. 21, 1886, near Pesotum, Ill., the son of Sanford and Caroline Johnson Crawford. He was married Oct. 3, 1909 to Mabel Baker, who preceded him in death Dec. 8, 1941. he was a former livestock buyer and had retired six years ago. He had been a resident of Covington since 1930. He was the last survivor of a family of five children. He formerly farmed in Douglas County, Ill. Mr. Crawford was a former member of the Woodmen Lodge at Pesotum. He is survived by two sons, Harold of Williamsport and Donald of Danville, Ill.; three daughters, Miss Mildred Crawford, with whom he made his home, Miss Rose Elizabeth Crawford of Logansport and Mrs. Juanita Appel of Gary; three grandchildren and two great grandchildren. Pallbearers were: George Port, Mac Sullivan, Jim Watts, Floyd Cade, Ora Crowder and Manford Abernathy. Honorary pallbearers were: Homer McDonald, Fred Wilson, Ira Tremaine and Forrest Bowen. -- typed by: GA
