ATTICA — Lois Kay (Snyder) Crawford, 63, Attica, died at 6:30 a.m. Sunday, Aug. 4, 2002 in the home of her brother, Curt Snyder in Rossville, following her illness from Lou Gehrig's Disease (ALS). She had been failing for the past five years. She was born April 22, 1939 in her family's rural residence in Davis Township, east of Attica, the daughter of George and Edith Westfall Synder. She married Robert Crawford Feb. 24, 1967 in Williamsport. He preceded in death. She was raised in rural Attica, graduating from Attica High School in 1957. She was a Delta Airways Flight Attendant graduate and had been briefly employed in Evanston, Ill., before returning to Attica and working as a clerk at Harrison Steel Castings Company for 43 years. In August 2000 after working through her disability for three years, she accepted a disability retirement from Harrison Steel. She formerly attended the West Lebanon Christian Church. She was a member of the Covenant Women of the Attica Free Methodist Church. She enjoyed reading and traveling, and took a variety of trips through the western United States with her family while growing up. She also took numerous vacations to Florida and enjoyed a trip to Europe during her lifetime. Survivors include: a son, Alan (Kim) Crawford, Attica; two brothers, Curtis (Gail) Snyder, Rossville and Jeff Snyder, Otterbein; two sisters, Judy Marsh, Lafayette and Georgia (Pete) Dunn, West Lafayette; and five grandchildren, Ervin, Mason, Alan, Jr., Mariah and Anna Crawford, all of Attica. She was also preceded in death by her parents. Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. today (Wednesday) in Maus Funeral Home, Attica, with Sue Larsen officiating. Burial was in Salem Cemetery, east of Attica. Memorial contributions are preferred to ALS (Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis Association of Indiana, 1980 E. 116th St., Suite 105, Carmel, Ind. 46032. – jlr
