Lawrence J. Crawford Jr., 51, of 427 Maple, died Saturday (June 28, 1969) at the Community Hospital in Williamsport. He had suffered a heart attack at his home. Born in Pence, Nov. 23, 1917, he was the son of Lawrence and Stella Cronkite Crawford Sr. He was married, Feb. 23, 1940 in Attica to Marjorie Cooper who survives. Mr. Crawford had lived in Warren County, but moved to Attica at an early age. A 1936 graduate of Attica High School, he was a Veteran of World War II, serving in the Air Force. Member of the United Methodist Church of Attica and the Wabash Valley Lodge 708, F & M. Mr. Crawford had been a pattern maker at the Hattisan Steel Casting Co. of Attica for 38 years. Also surviving are a son, Larry, a student at Purdue; a daughter, Melanie, at Home; his father, Lawrence Crawford of Silverwood and two sisters, Mrs. Lawrence Verne Stockdale of Crawfordsville and Mrs. Wilma Haas of Attica. Services Tuesday at the DeSutter Funeral Home with Rec. Harold Bachert officiating. Burial in Riverside Cemetery in Attica. tch

Attica – Lawrence J. Crawford Jr, 51 of 425 Maple St, Attica, died at 4 p.m. Saturday in Community Hospital, Williamsport. He was admitted to the hospital at 1:30 p.m. after suffering an apparent heart attack earlier while mowing his yard.  Mr. Crawford was born in Pence and moved to Attica as a youth, graduating from Attica HS in 1936.  He was employed by Harrison Steel Casting Co as a pattern maker for 33 years.  In 1940 he was married to Marjorie Cooper who survives. He was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Attica and Wabash Lodge 708, F&AM. He was a veteran of WWII having served in the Air Corps. Surviving with the widow are one son, Larry of Attica; a daughter, Melanie at home; his father, Lawrence Crawford, Sr. and two sisters, Mrs. Ralph Stockdale of Crawfordsville and Mrs. Donald Haas of Attica.
